‘The common end for which the diverse liturgical ministries work is not ceremony but a corporate life in faithful communion with all God’s people and holy things. For this reason liturgical ministers should never be seen to do in the liturgy what they are not regularly seen to do outside the liturgy’.
Aidan Kavanagh (OSB)

The Diocesan Liturgy Office has arranged for Fr Paul Turner of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Kansas City, Missouri and Director of the Office of Divine Worship for the Catholic Diocese of Kansas City, St Joseph, to give some input to the renewal of our Liturgical Ministries. Fr Paul is an internationally renowned liturgist who was recently appointed by Pope Francis as a Consultor to the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments. Fr Paul will be talking to our liturgical ministers, particularly ministers of hospitality, readers and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, in the Apostle Room of our Cathedral on Saturday 12 November beginning at 10.30am and ending at 3.30pm. Whilst refreshments will be available from 10am, participants will need to bring a packed lunch. To book, please email liturgy@cliftondiocese.com with ‘Fr Paul Turner’ in the subject line.
